CIO AXIS: What kind of digital solutions for Asia and Africa is DiGiSPICE innovating to transform the way content creation and transmission is done in the entertainment industry?

Dilip Modi: At DiGiSPICE Technologies, we provide a wide range of digital entertainment solutions and digital media services that bring entertainment to one’s fingertips. Our offerings include innovative and highly functional entertainment solutions which give users instant access to a whole new world of infotainment. DiGiSPICE is a leader in providing digital media and infotainment services to over 50 Mobile Network Operators world-wide.

We are building a digital ecosystem that can be leveraged by media/production houses, artists, telecom providers, enterprise & end users. We are creating opportunities across countries for global content/service providers to start providing their services through DiGiSPICE Technologies. Along with this, we are also leveraging Digital Marketing to empower Telco to mark their presence across global digital platforms.

CIO AXIS: What are the key focus areas for DiGiSPICE Technologies? How is it fulfilling the changing customer needs with technology across sectors?
Dilip Modi: In June 2021, we launched Korero Platforms, a new-age startup offering communication platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) solutions to enterprises. Korero, meaning conversations, enables omni-channel, contextual conversations between future-ready businesses and their stakeholders. Korero Platforms helps enterprises in their digital transformation journey by harnessing the latest AI technology to improve the connected customer experience. Korero Platforms leverages DiGiSPICE’s global presence and rich experience in running technology and content focused platforms and solutions for public as well as private enterprises. DiGiSPICE has a legacy of catering to a diverse set of enterprise customer needs, whilst keeping pace with the rapid evolutions in the technology industry, which is a benefit for Korero Platforms.

Our key focus areas are Entertainment, Communications, Telecom, Finance, Retail, E-commerce and Utilities. Since 2000, DiGiSPICE is known to its customers as a thriving, innovation-led organization. With extensive experience in running Telecom services in India (Spice Telecom), creating telecom-focused IT and content solutions and building fintech platforms and mobile ecosystems for government services, DiGiSPICE has catered to a diverse set of customer needs, whilst keeping pace with the rapid evolutions in the tech industry.

With the launch of two new age start-ups, Korero Platforms and Spice Money, DiGiSPICE Technologies is addressing this need by reaching the last mile and offering them solutions that provide solutions for their specific demands and situations.

CIO AXIS: The latest offering, Korero Platforms, how can start-ups and MSMEs save costs on customer communication with it?
Dilip Modi: Korero means conversations and it enables omnichannel, contextual conversations between future-ready businesses and their stakeholders. Korero Platforms helps enterprises in their digital transformation journey by harnessing the latest AI technology to improve the connected customer experience. Enterprise customers that are leveraging Korero Platforms’ Communication Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) offerings are expected to get 20 – 25% higher RoI in their marketing campaigns and reduce the cost of engagement with clients by 30%. Korero Platforms with its differentiated market offerings helps enterprises create, control, and maximize their campaign performance. The AI tools further drive the customer lifetime value by automating the communication flow. While Korero Platforms is industry agnostic and can be deployed to optimize customer communication across businesses of every size and in every sector, our present focus is to drive adoption in Retail/ e-Commerce, BFSI, and Utilities with large enterprises, MSMEs as well as start-ups in the new economy. We have already on-boarded leading public and private enterprises as customers in India.

CIO AXIS: In the era of smartphone penetration, how can PSUs leverage smart messaging to improve communication with stakeholders?
Dilip Modi: The state owned Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) in India play a crucial role in employment generation, regional upliftment, capital and public sector formation along with research & development. Communication is a key enabling in creating a significant impact for the respective roles. Corporate communications for PSUs is entirely different from that of other organisations. Effective communication can help PSUs in bridging the urban and rural divide and successfully bring a positive change for the underserved community in India. PSUs were established for the holistic development of the country and implementing development programs is only possible through an effective communication strategy. With the growing internet penetration, it is possible to execute a digital communication strategy and create a larger reach. With the help of AI based contextual conversations, PSUs can leverage technology and reach their stakeholders even in the remotest parts of the country, anywhere and anytime. And that’s what we are currently doing with Korero.

CIO AXIS: What has been Spice Money’s contribution in extending digital financial services to the underserved rural areas especially after the pandemic induced lockdown?
Dilip Modi: Spice Money is one of the largest Rural Fintech Companies in India & we have brought a transformative impact on digital, financial, and e-retail services across the rural and semi-urban regions. Having created more than 7 Lakh Rural entrepreneurs (Adhikaris’) and managed financial transactions worth USD 12 billion, we are growing at more than 150% year on year. Our services benefit 100 million consumers and we are seen as one of the most trusted Rural Fintech companies in modern India. At Spice Money, we have recently established India’s leading ATM network with 1 lakh micro-ATMs in rural India.

CIO AXIS: With two new age start-ups, Korero Platforms and Spice Money, where is DiGiSPICE headed?
Dilip Modi: Our aim is to build inclusive tech solutions which are forward looking in their approach and help the new age entrepreneurs to advance their businesses as well as build a culture of entrepreneurship and self-reliance in rural India. The new-age startup Korero Platforms offers communication platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) solutions to enterprises. This new platform enables omni-channel, contextual conversations between future-ready businesses and their stakeholders. Spice Money is one of the largest Rural Fintech companies in India & we have brought a transformative impact on digital, financial, and e-retail services across the rural and semi-urban regions. We have also launched our third business, Travel Union, India’s first rural B2B travel tech platform with the mission to support, digitally empower and build a leading travel agent business community in rural India at zero investment. Travel Union aims to be the largest rural digital travel services platform serving the 1 billion Bharat population. DiGiSPICE Technologies will continue to grow and bring the latest and innovative technologies that will help people build a better future for themselves and India.
