Tridium Launches Next-Generation IoT Framework – Niagara 4

Tridium today introduced Niagara 4, the next generation of its iconic Niagara Framework the operating system of the Internet of Things (IoT). Niagara 4 includes dozens of new features and enhancements to help Niagara developers, integrators and users increase operational and energy efficiency, reduce costs and maintain security.

“Niagara is based on the promise of connectivity between machines and people regardless of location and protocol,” said Nino DiCosmo, president and general manager of Tridium. “And Niagara 4 stretches those boundaries. It has the ability to quickly collect and synthesize tens of thousands of data points, and visualize that data for building operators through a streamlined user interface. Plus, the platform will continue to evolve through the innovation and success of the Niagara Community.”

Key benefits of Niagara 4 include: optimized operational and energy efficiency, thanks to deeper insights and faster problem-solving enabled by improved visualization tools. These include dashboards and charting, which leverage industry-standard HTML5 and other open web technologies;Faster build and install with standardized data models through templating, improving cost-to-serve, saving time and reducing errors; and enhanced security features, including role-based access control and code signing, making Niagara 4 secure-by-default and improving the usability of security features.
