Intel, Baidu Increase Collaboration across AI, AD and 5G

Intel and Baidu have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at increasing the collaboration between the two companies in Baidu’s core business areas over the next three years.

The companies will take advantage of Intel’s rich technology portfolio, support resources, and hardware and software expertise. The partnership will help Baidu deliver on its business-to-business artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and better serve billions of Internet users and enterprise customers in China and beyond.

The new agreement, which builds on 10 years of partnership, focuses on optimizing Intel platforms and solutions for the cloud, AI, autonomous driving (AD), 5G and edge – further transforming the way Baidu’s customers consume content and experience its services.

Intel and Baidu will work closely to bring high-performance and cutting-edge capabilities to Baidu’s AI cloud, mobile search/feed, video streaming, BaiduBrain (Baidu’s AI platform), PaddlePaddle (Baidu’s deep learning platform), DuerOS (Baidu’s AI-powered voice assistant platform) and Apollo (Baidu’s autonomous driving platform).

The two parties will invest in innovations based on lntel leading technologies, including power and cooling solutions in the data center, the Intel Xeon Scalable platform, Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory, Intel Optane DC SSD, silicon photonics, Ethernet, Intel AI accelerators and Intel software stack.
The end-to-end collaboration will provide gen-over-gen technology evolution to power Baidu’s business growth, technology and solution leadership in the industry.
