Key investments and partners support Trifacta’s new regional presence in Singapore and growing presence in India, along with new regional executive leadership

Trifacta, the Data Engineering Cloud company, has announced its continued expansion into Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), with a new regional presence in Singapore and Bengaluru. These new locations build on Trifacta’s expansion into APJ, and will serve customers in these regions while also adding top talent. The APJ Trifacta presence is a cross-functional center with team members focused on product management, engineering, business development, customer success, and professional services.

As demand for cloud data engineering surges, Trifacta answers the call for innovative solutions to quickly and accurately prepare, profile and pipeline data. Since creating a permanent presence in APJ, Trifacta has added prominent customers, including SMBC, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Stats N.Z., Canopy, and DataTribe, among others.

To drive the continued expansion and support the influx of customers, Trifacta appointed Quoc Tran as the company’s first Vice President of the APJ region. Tran brings over two decades of experience in data and SaaS companies, including leading the APJ expansion of Vontu, a leader in data loss prevention that Symantec later acquired. Tran has deep knowledge of data wrangling and data engineering, with more than seven years leading Trifacta’s global sales engineering organization before becoming an executive. Tran holds an S.B. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

V.P. of Engineering Dinesh Rathi leads Trifacta’s India office, stepping into the executive role this year. He has 20 years of experience in fast-growth product-based startups and enterprises and has deep expertise in data platforms. Rathi brings expertise in establishing and leading R&D organizations in India for data companies, including Informatica and Qubole. Rathi holds a B. Tech in CSE from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

As part of the expansion into APJ, Trifacta previously added investment help from Telstra Ventures, NTT Docomo Ventures, and Infosys.

“Telstra Ventures is pleased to invest in Trifacta’s growth in the Asia Pacific region. To be competitive in the pace of industry today, businesses must be able to make data-driven decisions and accurately and quickly prepare, profile, and pipeline data,” said Gurpreet Ghuliani, Operating Partner, Telstra Ventures. “Trifacta is a clear leader in this cloud data engineering space, and we are excited to be part of the crucial growth in this region and beyond.”

“It is exciting to see Trifacta’s expansion into India and the launch of its India R&D Center – a sign of its already successful growth and leadership,” said Deepak Padaki, Executive Vice President – Strategy, at Infosys, an early investor in Trifacta. “We leverage Trifacta’s differentiated data engineering solutions to help our global clients explore their data in an efficient and scalable way.”

Additionally, Trifacta has created partnerships with NEC and NRI, both leading system integrators in Japan. Trifacta established distributor partnerships with Hankook Trifacta Pte. Ltd., in Korea, and other key Google Cloud resellers in the region like Devoteam and Brillar.io.

Trifacta delivers an intelligent, collaborative, and self-service data engineering cloud platform to transform data, ensure quality and automate data pipelines, enabling consumable data at any scale.

Trifacta is hiring in Singapore, India, and across all geographies, teams, departments and levels.
