As part of its enduring commitment to advancing healthcare with technology innovation in India, Siemens Healthineers today announced strategic partnerships with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG), and Narayana Health (NH). These partnerships are big steps in making India an innovation center for Siemens Healthineers globally. The company continues to build on its committed investment of INR 1,300 crores (€160 million) to establish a new campus housing research and development, manufacturing, and sales, and an innovation center.

“India is a strategic market for Siemens Healthineers and it plays an important role in global innovation and technology expansion to achieve the future of healthcare,” says Peter Schardt, chief technology officer, Siemens Healthineers. “The partnerships will build on our focus towards fighting the most threatening diseases, enabling efficient operations, and expanding access to patient care. Through these collaborations, we strive to make healthcare even more efficient, sustainable, and humane for everyone across the country.”

Dileep Mangsuli, Development Center head, Siemens Healthineers, says, “These partnerships reflect our commitment to India, bringing together innovation, education, healthcare, and talent to strengthen India’s healthcare infrastructure and deliver the right treatment at the right time everywhere.”

The collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India‘s premier institute for advanced scientific and technological research and education, aims to drive research and co-creation of technologies that improve imaging, and address access to care. Speaking about the partnership, Prof. Govindan Rangarajan, Director, IISc said, “As IISc is opening up a new frontier of clinical research with the establishment of the IISc Medical School and Bagchi-Parathasarathy Hospital, this partnership with Siemens Healthineers will strengthen our focus in integrating science, engineering and medicine. This partnership will also enable our researchers to invent technologies for better and affordable healthcare outcomes.“

Narayana Health is a leading hospital network that aims to create an affordable, globally benchmarked quality-driven healthcare services model. The partnership with Siemens Healthineers will focus on advancing cardiovascular care and digital transformation in healthcare by building on the capabilities from both organizations. Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, chairman and senior consultant cardiac surgeon, NH, commented, “We look forward to collaborating with Siemens Healthineers to advance the digitalization of healthcare and expand access to care, especially for cardiac patients.“

The partnership with HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. (HCG) , India’s largest provider of cancer care, aims to make cancer care more personalized through the application of diagnostic imaging technologies and artificial intelligence. Dr Ajaikumar BS, executive chairman, radiation & medical oncologist, HCG, added, “HCG has a long and cherished association with Siemens Healthineers. With this partnership, we will work towards further enhancing the quality and impact of cancer care for the community at large, as well as developing fellowship programs to advance research and academics in the oncology space. For me, it’s another step towards realizing my vision of establishing a benchmark of high-end care across cancer care centers in India and the emerging markets.“

These partnerships build on Siemens Healthineers‘ enduring commitment to India, where it has been advancing healthcare outcomes for over 90 years, manufacturing world-class products for over 60 years, and leveraging Indian research and development talent for over 25 years.
