Check Point Enables India Customers to meet Local Data Residency

by CIO AXIS

Check Point Software Technologies has announced the hosting of Check Point Harmony Endpoint and Mobile solutions in India as part of its continued commitment to the Indian market. Check Point’s investment in local infrastructure will enable organizations in the country to keep their data safe locally and meet data sovereignty requirements, such as those in the government, banking & financial services, and pharmaceutical sectors.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all over the world, organizations are operating with remote workforces and India is no exception. Employees are working from home, often accessing corporate networks through their laptops and mobile devices. This has increased the vulnerability of organizations to threats, as cybercriminals come up with more sophisticated methods of attack.

At the same time, organizations in key sectors are required to meet data sovereignty requirements. For example, as part of CERT-In requirements, banking & financial services organizations in India are required to keep critical data within the country’s legal boundaries, as well as protect their critical systems using continuous monitoring such as direct control and supervision protocol mechanisms.

“The hosting of Harmony Endpoint and Harmony Mobile locally is part of Check Point Software’s commitment to the India market,” said Sundar Balasubramanian, Managing Director, India & SAARC, Check Point Software Technologies. “With working from home is the norm, organizations are faced with the challenge of securing themselves across all vectors. At the same time, many organizations are required by regulation to meet local data residency requirements. By investing in our infrastructure and hosting Harmony Endpoint and Harmony Mobile locally, organizations in India can keep their endpoints and mobiles secure while being compliant with IT & security best practices.”

Organizations can manage Harmony Endpoint and Harmony Mobile through the Infinity Portal which provides unified management, as well as unprecedented protections, visibility, control, and insights for IT and security teams. With an Infinity Portal account, organizations can secure and manage their entire IT infrastructure – networks, cloud, IoT, endpoints, and mobile – with a scalable, elastic, and cloud-based platform.

Harmony Endpoint is a complete solution built to protect the remote workforce from today’s complex threat landscape. It prevents the most imminent threats to the endpoint while automating 90% of attack detection, investigation, and remediation tasks. Harmony Mobile is a market-leading mobile threat defense solution that offers advanced protection from all kinds of mobile threats and across mobile apps, networks, and operating systems (OS).

In December 2020, Check Point Software announced that it was hosting Check Point CloudGuard Posture Management locally to enable local data residency in the cloud for its customers. The latest investment in local infrastructure for Harmony Endpoint and Mobile Security solutions announced today reemphasizes Check Point Software’s commitment to the Indian market.
