CIO AXIS: Cloud Computing in gaining more attention today. Which cloud model – public, private or hybrid – is preferred across enterprises and why?

Amit Gupta: Tech-oriented organizations that are willing to keep up with the evolving and dynamic business landscape adopt hybrid cloud strategies. This architecture is a fusion of in-house infrastructure or the private cloud and third-party, public cloud services, enabling effortless data movement between these different environments. The existing resources can be utilized optimally in addition to scaling up to the public cloud as required, thus getting the best of both worlds.

It offers scalability, enhanced computing power, flexibility, better performance, cost optimization, fulfilment of regulatory obligations and security, and due to these several benefits, the hybrid, multi-cloud market is growing at a faster pace too. Tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft are investing significantly in this technology solution, where businesses can simultaneously manage private and public clouds.

Furthermore, hybrid clouds also offer flexible pricing plans, so organizations can save costs by paying only for the computing resources used by them.

CIO AXIS: What are the benefits of Cloud Computing and what are the challenges in implementing it for digital transformation?

Amit Gupta: Cloud technology acts as a cornerstone for the agile businesses of today. Cloud services speed up processes, automate and enhance business performance with flexibility, scalability, cost-saving, security and collaboration features.

Before incorporating a cloud solution in their digital transformation initiative, organizations have to address a few challenges around data security, service quality, pricing, performance, IT compliance, and migration challenges over heritage systems. Partnering with a computing service provider to solve these challenges is a good option for businesses of all sizes.
